Description

pastel galaxy! Hey everyone!pastel galaxy!
Since I reached 250 watchers, I thought it was time for something different, a Galaxy dragon! a simple sculpture painted ina different way as normal :D I thought it would be fun to paint a pretty simple dragon in a speciual way, this is how I came up with the galaxy dragon. this dragon was actually an old leftover dragon I made serveral months ago. I never did anything with it untill I discovered this little guy. I made it the sculpture as a good night dragon with a glow in the dark star. the star is removeable and the dragon can also be used as a normal sculpture instaid of a holder for the star.

The colors were inspired by the colors of the Milky way and some other parts of the galaxy and the small silver dots on his body are meant to symbolize starts. the horns and wings are colored after darker parts of the galaxy. the star he is holding was made with glow in the dark Fimo clay. it glows really well in the dark.
the big painted eyes where a experiment since most of my older sculptures have dot eyes with sparkles in them (apart from the ponies). therefore this was an experiment, let me know in the comment what you think of them and if you would like to see more dragons like this in the future Wink/Razz
I painted him with the help of a sponge brush. it was my first time using this tool and I think it came out quite well :D (Big Grin)  I first painted the body light blue, when that dried I covered him with darker blue as seen on his back and belly. and then i edited some purple spots. the star on his forehead, the horns and the wings where painted black and then the tops where made purple with the same sponge brush.

This sculpture was made with Creall Do And Dry Clay, which is an air-drying clay. this clay is not colored so you have to paint it. It was painted with Acryllic paint. I do not remember how long I spend on the sculpture, but the painting took me 2 and a half hour to finish. I have not glazed the sculpture yet in this picture since the glazing would reflect to much sunlight and the sculptures true colors wouldn't come out much as it does now without the glazing.
The glow in the dark star was made out of glow-in-the-dark Fimo clay. since I made this by hand and did not use a mold all the sides on the sculpture are not the same. it took me2 hours, including an half hour of backing and some time of kneading.
the dragon is 6,5 centimeters in hight (from bottom to top) and in lenght (tail to front feet) 6,3 centimeters. the star is 3,5 centimeters in hight

Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great day!
